woptic: Optical conductivity with Wannier functions and adaptive k-mesh refinement
نویسندگان
چکیده
We present an algorithm for the adaptive tetrahedral integration over the Brillouin zone of crystalline materials, and apply it to compute the optical conductivity, dc conductivity, and thermopower. For these quantities, whose contributions are often localized in small portions of the Brillouin zone, adaptive integration is especially relevant. Our implementation, thewoptic package, is tied into thewien2wannier framework and allows including a local many-body self energy, e.g. from dynamical mean-field theory (DMFT). Wannier functions and dipole matrix elements are computed with the DFT packageWien2k and Wannier90. For illustration, we show DFT results for fcc-Al and DMFT results for the correlated metal SrVO3. © 2016 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Adaptive mesh generation in FEM from an optical interferometric phase map
An approach hybrid optical-computational criterion to generate an adaptive refinement mesh to be used in mechanical structure analysis with Finite Element Method (FEM) is proposed. The numerical error to determine the refinement zones in adaptive meshing is substituted for an experimental weight function. Experimental optical phase map is used to define this weight function. This criterion perm...
متن کاملOptimizing the post-Wannier Berry-phase Code for Optical and Anomalous Hall Conductivities and Orbital Magnetization
WANNIER90 is a quantum-mechanics code for the computation of maximally localized Wannier functions, ballistic transport, thermoelectrics and Berry-phase derived properties – such as optical conductivity, orbital magnetization and anomalous Hall conductivity. In this whitepaper, we report on optimizations for WANNIER90 carried out in the course of the PRACE preparatory access project PA2231. Thr...
متن کاملNew adaptive interpolation schemes for efficient meshbased motion estimation
Motion estimation and compensation is an essential part of existing video coding systems. The mesh-based motion estimation (MME) produces smoother motion field, better subjective quality (free from blocking artifacts), and higher peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) in many cases, especially at low bitrate video communications, compared to the conventional block matching algorithm (BMA). Howev...
متن کاملMultiscale Multiphysic Mixed Geomechanical Model for Deformable Porous Media Considering the Effects of Surrounding Area
Porous media of hydro-carbon reservoirs is influenced from several scales. Effective scales of fluid phases and solid phase are different. To reduce calculations in simulating porous hydro-carbon reservoirs, each physical phenomenon should be assisted in the range of its effective scale. The simulating with fine scale in a multiple physics hydro-carbon media exceeds the current computational ca...
متن کاملDichroic f-sum rule and the orbital magnetization of crystals
We consider the magnetic circular dichroism spectrum of a crystal with broken time-reversal symmetry in the electric-dipole approximation. Using the Kubo-Greenwood formula for the absorptive part of the antisymmetric optical conductivity, its frequency integral is recast as a ground-state property. We show that in insulators this quantity is proportional to the circulation of the occupied Wanni...
